The last week

The week continued as usual, the children worked with their chips and continued to matters except Wednesday and Thursday.

Monday February 1st we received a surprise, this Friday would have a carnival at the school, where students come to school dressed and make a parade around the school with their costumes so that everyone can see them.

Wednesday February 3, students did the tests Language and Mathematics. They did very well, and I was going around to see if a student had a problem. In addition, I made my second intervention giving the class, where I had to give the number of the noun, seeing how good was the methodology in the last class that I gave, I decided to do the same, explaining the theory briefly and applying it in a game to reinforce it (although this time the activity was group of 3 students) and finally, they make a tab that I made myself to make sure they understood and assimilated well.

Thursday 4, the tutor and I thought to paint a mural because the students studied the water cycle. So we decided to do on a continuous paper a big mural with the cycle drawn, for that, she asked me to draw for on Friday with the help of all be able to color it and decorate it (I thought about putting cotton at clouds) so among all and realize that they can learn better and serve to decorate the classroom.
Therefore the last two hours I dedicated myself to realize the great sketch.

This day we made a class unusual way. Students were watching the state of water, so the tutor brought ice cubes for children could see the different states where water could be found. We drove past the ice cubes in a small Ziploc bag and could even take one for experiment, and then leave them in the bag on the border of the window for them to melt and they saw the change of state had occurred in the water.
I think it's a fun and different way for students to learn abstract concepts just reading it in the book and thus improve their learning and retention given the motivation to present themselves manipulative and experimental activities.

Friday 5 was my last day, it was a day full of activities and emotions. To begin, students were lecturing as if it were a normal day and at 10 and a half we were in the courtyard forming rows all courses for the carnival parade.
The whole school was disguised, even teachers. When I arrived I saw many children by all sides disguised as all sorts of things. When students saw me coming they asked me if later disguise me and they answered yes. When we left at 10 and a half, all college courses conducted the parade, where we expect many parents and family to take pictures of their children. It was a fun experience because all parents were excited and surprised seeing so many children dressed. When we finished the parade we were in the yard to see a street band that came to sing a little. After that, each course went to class to continue working. The tutor and I teach the class mural yesterday I was doing and organize groups to come and paint and color things the mural and were changing from time to time so that everyone could participate.

We were making and decorating the mural until half an hour before the end of the teaching hour, when they started to give me drawings and letters that made me for my bachelor students. It was then that I began to distribute boxes goodies I had made for everyone, and that was when everyone got up to give me a hug and began to ask please do not go away, and that they were going to miss terribly. It was a very special moment as it is unspoilable how in three weeks can get so fond of a group of students and how you can connect so well with them, and when they came to me together a hug was a unique moment that I will never forget because They were "my first students."

Second Week (From 25 January to 29 of January)

On Monday the pupils taught me an activity that they realize every Monday in the first hour, a TV news morning. During the week, the pupils bring news that has happened in the city, our country or other countries, which will count on Monday in the first hour to the rest of their partners. For it, they put a table in front of the class along with a cardboard cut as if it were the contour of a television and go one by one counting the news as if they were journalists.

On Tuesday 26, I gave my first class, where I had teach them the gender of the name (male and female). For it I decided to ask at the beginning of the class if they knew the gender of a word and the differences between both. Later, I realize an activity invented by me where the children had to go out to the blackboard and choose a word and place it in a part or other one of a cardboard depending if the gender was male or female, and they had to tell to the rest of partners why it was of this gender and make a sentence with the Word.
Then, I gave them a tab that I had done with different exercises to reinforce the knowledge. The game was very positive and motivating for the students as they learned so fast, they did the tab very quickly and there were no doubts.

On Wednesday 27. there was a surprise, we did an excursion to the Botanical garden of the Uma (University of Malaga) where the children saw the different types of plants, with names and characteristics and finally they did a workshop where they planted a zucchini on a flowerpot holder and took it to house. It was a very positive experience to go outside the school environment and in addition to having fun, we were learning about other plants and then we had a while to play all and relax and children reinforced the knowledge about the plants because they did last week in Natural Sciences.
I think that this is a way of learning surprising and very positive, since the children are not limited to learn about plants in a book, but they can see them, touch and experiment with them, what seems a great and amazing idea to give classes on topics that we can find in differents places apart from the school.

On Friday 29, we had an excursion to the Carranque's Sports Center, which is located 10 minutes from the school, because it was the Day of Peace. Every year all primary students go yo the sports center to make the solidarity race, aid with the organization Save the Children and we had stickers that we had to put in our chest, where they make a career more or less length depending on the course where they are. Each course had a banner with a word like Peace, respect, equality... and after the race all courses walked around at the same time the sports court with their banners and posters. There were many parents who came to see their kids run, so the  motivation of the students was present at all times, plus it was an unusual activity so they were very happy and I enjoyed a lot. After that, we went back to the school and work a tab of the peace.

Like last week, my participation is daily. I am constantly helping and guiding students in any difficult situation they may have and collaborating with the tutor and other teachers in the work and activities.

The first week (from 18 January to 22 January)

I decided to make my day a week to week is not so repetitive and boring put information every day.

This week I have observed different behaviors and attitudes that the students depending on the teacher imparting the subject. Those that have surprised me most are the English and religion as they are teachers who have spent many years in school. They are very serious but also motivating when performing dynamic activities and closely involve the problems, explaining every detail and the students do not lose focus as they demonstrate formality. As the days go I'll see if this is the best way to treat students to concentrate and not worsen their behavior.

Throughout Wednesday 20, they have been working and have made a special activity they do every Wednesday and Friday, collective reading, and played Musicians of Bremen, in which all involved reading aloud and taking into account good intonation reading. From my point of view, I think it is a very important activity because it promotes reading experience and encourage students' reading.

Today, Thursday 21 class has conducted two tests: one after another Math and Language. While performing the tests, the tutor told me that not only values the control tests, but attaches great importance to the work and daily effort, because there you can see the difficulties and progress with students.

The tutor has given me the book so go see the issues that will begin next week and the exact materials out there to start doing my teaching unit.

One of the things I want to highlight of this day was that, after making a worksheet, students had free time to play, read, color ... or whatever they wanted, and we have been observing the attitudes of students and We've seen most of them preferred to play or perform tasks in groups, while others preferred to do it individually.

Finally, on Friday he ordered 22 tutor me make the cover of the book traveler. This is an activity that the students that this is the book for every student to take home and write a page inventing a story or a story and two days and bring it back the next student should continue the story to your liking where the former stayed and so on until you enter the class.

Finally they gave Mathematics, where I was circling around the classroom while students performing pages with the corresponding periods in case they had doubts and help. Meanwhile, the tutor worked with a student who has difficulty and was teaching the numbers from 0 to 20.

My first review about this school so I've been looking at this week is quite positive. Teachers help each other and are looking forward to take advantage of anything to achieve expand the field of knowledge and I also like the existing climate between them and what more they try is to improve every day with manipulatives projects looking for social and academic welfare of students.

All week my daily participation is constant, I walk around the classroom to help and / or resolve probles or difficulties which could present students, as I help the tutor to the implementation of activities.

My first day, come on!

Finally came the day expected, the first day of practices! Nothing more reach, I have greeted the teachers that formerly gave me classes when i was in the school and knowing the many others that have reached new. I was received in the best possible way, and counting with the support of all for anything. Before entering my assigned course, I was in a class of 1º Primary for 10 minutes while the director was looking at the documents where they put the guardians assigned. After 10 minutes came the director and accompanied me to the classroom that i had been assigned that it was 2º Primary. One of the things which surprised me a few minutes later was that I was able to see the great difference between the two courses with regard to children because the students of 2º showed the great autonomy in a matter of a single year of difference.

First, I present to the students I was going to work during the three weeks and they made a small presentation to get to know them a little more. Then I sat down at the side of my guardian, which has been putting me the day wherever they were going in the subjects and the class group, although she told me that I would knowing them better and their behavior and needs of each student in a short time as I go seeing them. The class gave me very good impression, because as when I was studying there when I was a child, the classroom was completely decorated with murals and materials made by the students along with posters in several languages and on various subjects (English's calendar, the alphabet ... ).

In addition, the form of organization of the students it seems to me very practical because you can watch them all and not laying down rows in which the last passes almost unnoticed. The subject that they were working was language and the first activity that we distributed to the students was a pictogram to review spelling of the -r and -rr, to what the children reacted in a positive way because they are different activities to the traditional book and they looked very motivated.

Then they had Natural Sciences, in which the guardian commented to me that they were providing the atmosphere and atmospheric phenomena, as well as instruments for measuring time, rain, wind etc. After the reading of that part, all the students raised their hands to read the important table of these pages, (the box essential that summarizes the definitions) in which it appeared the image of an owl to the side to show what is important. Something that has surprised me has been seeing as they were all very motivated by read the famous "owl" and the tutor took that to send read it aloud to everyone so they would be learning the theory of unconscious way.

Followed by mathematics, we were doing two files of addition and subtraction with carried and at the end, were corrected. Between my arrival and various events, we had several surprises in the day as one of the teachers brought us authorizations for the next week go on an excursion so the children were very happy, and the other was the birthday of one of the student of class who has distributed a package of candy to each one of your classmates and with luck she gave me one.

After recess, they had Physical Education, where they were playing and doing sport and finally the English class where they have worked the animals of the jungle. It is a subject quite active because the children working with tabs, games, posters and audios where handled and listen to the english. Of all the subjects we had today what has impressed me more the attention was the desire to learn, the motivation they have presented in this subject, the participation (in english) and the manner in which they work in a fairly positive.

On my second day of practices I saw that the class have the same rutine everyday, upon arrive, the students (one pupil by a day) put in the school calendar the date, the weather, the season and the temperature of the day. Next, we corrected the tab of the previous day and they realized a review of the unit.
After that, they have learned proper names and polysemic words and they participated to say diferents polysemic words that they know. The guardian has commanded a skills activity (to know the level and the knowledge that they possess) which consists of activities of reasoning and mathematical understanding. I was able to observe with this activity that some students had difficulty in grouping quantities with several criteria to classify (from 15 kg to 20 kg and 110cm to 120cm), and other students only slow to perform the task because they get distracted or they require more attention to concentrate.

At the same time, the guardian finds and proposes files for students that have difficulty choosing with syllables, pictographs ... to strengthen the understanding, knowledge and the autonomy of the students.

Finally, the class has performed a file that was a review of the unit of Natural Sciences that have been given by the guardian to be evaluated along with the daily exercises, attention, effort ... And if they had doubts, they could look at the book, although none of them do.
